Genuine Validation issue; Windows 7 64bit

Seems this is a common problem. Tried several things, and tried MS support, to no avail. Figure I should ask before I just start over with the original image I burned.

I bought an Asus G73 laptop from Best Buy roughly 1 1/2 years ago. In the past 2 months, Windows has yelled at me for not having a genuine copy (which I do). Starting off:

    thespaniard.

Did you perhaps try to use a rather well-know hack program to get around the activation?

    That's what things look like.

Do you have a valid Win 7? Yes/No

Firstly, it's in English; have not changed the language.

Second, it's a legitimate copy; it came from Best Buy with Windows 7 already on it.

This may simply be caused by a bad set of Intel Rapid Storage Technology drivers -

Installing the Intel Rapid Storage Drivers
try downloading and installing them from here -
    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=2101&DwnldID=20624

Once complete, please reboot twice, then post another MGADiag report.

Ouch - not good news you're one of the 'lucky' few that the install doesn't work for.
Did you install anything just before the problem first appeared? (perhaps BlueFish?). Did you have any kind of malware infection.?
My normal procedure at this point is to pass people back to MS WGA support - but you say you've already been there.
I'm currently dealing (or at least trying to) with a similar case elsewhere - Not Running Genuine Windows Error 0x8004fe21 - if you fancy having a look at that thread to see whether you have any of the same symptoms.

I think that a repair install, or restoring your image is likely to be the easiest and quickest solution.

Repair Install will probably be best. I keep running virus, spyware, etc. programs, but not turning anything up.

Just to check: Since I have Win7 as OEM, should I do something differently than if I had a box copy?
