Windows is reporting it isn't genuine, Validation code 0x8004FE21 Hi,
So I've had this machine for nearly 2 years now and just recently I started getting errors stating Windows wasn't genuine. I browsed forums and tried to find a fix before I decided to reinstall but so far haven't been able to stop it. Below is my diagnostic report from the Genuine Advantage diagnostic tool. Thanks in advance to anyone who looks and let me know of any more information I can provide. Code:

It looks as if your virus attack mangled either the registry entries or the files themselves - most likely the files, since they all show as being 0-byte files.
Do you have another similar installation of Windows you can copy the file from? If so, you can copy it to a folder directly under the C: drive, and then boot to the Repair environment, and copy it into all the locations you found above. (remember that the Windows drive changes letter in the RE!).
Note that you will need to copy each file separately - there are two separate versions involved - so create simple subfolders into which y
you can copy each.
Can you manage this yourself - or do you need detailed instructions?? | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus K52F OS Win 7 x64 Home Premium (and x86 VirtualBox VM) CPU i3 370M Motherboard Asus Memory 8GB - finally :) Graphics Card it's an i3, dude! The report looks fine now - there's a bit of clening up to do, though....
1) validate the installation at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate to get rid of the remaining error
2) check the rest of the Windows\System32 folder AND the Windows\SysWOW64 folder for any more 0-byte files - see what's found, and whether you can replace them.
but, yeah - we're doen, basically!
