    20 updates installed, one failed SP1. Same error. I'll have a look later, have to go to work now.

    Please download WVCheck http://artellos.com/ccount/click.php?id=7

    • Double click WVCheck.exe.
    • As indicated by the prompt, This program can take a while depending on your hard drive space.
    • Once the program is done, copy the contents of the notepad file as a reply.

    Thanks for that, I have previously run a 'MicrosoftFixit' tool as suggested by Seavixen in a different thread. Do these do the same thing?
    Anyway I had already downloaded the SP1 installer from the microsoft site to install it that way before I read your post, and it has worked.. SP1 is now installed, and now I'm catching up with all the 'post SP1' updates which seem to be installing fine at the moment.
    Do you think it's worthwhile running those tools anyway or not?
