Optional Update: How Make It Go Away?

Is there a way to get rid of optional update notifications so they don't persist and just become annoying?

I got one now to install Bing. I don't know much about Bing; but I think it's a search engine. I use google and don't need another search engine. I don't want to reminded to install it everytime I get an important update notification for the next five years or so that I plan to have this computer.

Right click on it and select "hide update".

Hello Tom,

You should be able to hide the update to no longer see it anymore.

Hope this helps,
