message popped up suggesting my Product key code was not valid

Hello,
I did the Repair install, after months of grief trying to solve various issues. It works just fine.
Yet just yesterday ( after installing the repair install 5 days ago) a message popped up suggesting my
Product key code was not valid. It asked if I wished to add it again, or buy it ( via phone registration).
I did nothing and thought to ask you folks here for advice.

My Key code is what came Std. on the Dell box - a label on it with Microsoft logo and the key code.
I checked 3X times to insure I copied the code properly and entered the numbers correctly.
The machine is running fine - yet my concern ? Should I be concerned ? Is there something I should have done
or need to do now.

Any coaching on this is welcomed.

Frank, welcome to Sevenforums.

Try this out - Activate Windows 7 Online
failing that, try this - Activate Windows 7 by Phone
- both tutorials created by Brink

PS you marked this thread as solved, did you figure it out before hand?

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool
(download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
- **in your own thread**, please
Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

thank you for your feedback... I RE-TYPED the prodct key code (again) once the error message came back up. The system repsonded that it was successfully installed. I will wait for a few days to see if the error comes back. If so
I will revisit the recommendations offered above.

Please post your MGADiag report now - this will show whether the problem is likely to recur, and may show that the problem is still present, but merely hidden.
