I have got the same problem happening on a genuine Windows 7 and started a thread on this yesterday.
My Bios is reading vista - hense why Windows 7 now being rejected as not genuine (up-grade disc came from ACER)
ACER is demanding £139 to fix it!
Microsoft £80 for another Windows 7 disc!
My valid Vista discs won't work due to Acer muck up on Windows 7 install - so cannot go back to Vista.
I am in a right rut - with both companies profiting to 'fix' what should never have needed to be 'fixed'.
All was paid at purchase in good faith - yet I have a laptop that is totally useless unless I pay more to them!
I wonder how many of us are having these problems - it is such bad form by these companies.
I am feeling quite upset and robbed.
