Some of the speed improvements in W8 would be nice. Particularly the graphics and boot improvements.

what about support for USB 3.0 and Intel's LightPeak dual-channel technology added to service pack 2
I don't have the hardware to take advantage of that.

I already have USB 3.0 support with my hardware and manufacturer provided drivers. I don't think Microsoft needs to add that for a service pack until it's a lot more mature and has been around for a while longer. Thunderbolt is a huge waste IMHO and shouldn't be bothered with - I'm not spending $50 for a 2 ft cable. I bet it will be less used than firewire 400.

Nothing is as bad as ME. Windows 8 isn't even in the ballpark.

There was nothing wrong with ME that wasn't casued by being overhyped in the first place.
It had a couple of very significant firsts
    1) First with System Restore
    2) First with no DOS shell

The biggest problem with ME was Norton :)

(I got my MVP for ME support, BTW - it's an old friend for me)
