    Windows live update error

Hi,Just had a windows live essential 2011 update come in and it got to 100% completed and froze for about 30secs,and then said could'nt install and showed error 0x80070643.
Which meant firewall was'nt turned on,but it was.Tried again but same error came up.
So i restarted laptop opemed windows live mail and it opens ok no problem then close it and the update pops up again so i click it and blue line spins left to right and says installing then stops and disappears.
Mail is working ok,but i keep getting the windows live update popping up all the time.
    Here's a screenshot of what it's installed.os is windows 7 home premium 64bit.

    Hi Hanna.

Thanks for the link,i've just been checking it out and it seems well handy.
Since my first post the windows live update popup has'nt happened again and i also checked out all the windows esentials programs and they all seem to open and function.
But i'm a bit unsure if the updater has installed the right program,or has it installed some sort of multilingual bloatware, could you check my screenshot and let me know if it's normal.
I live in the UK so would only need English version.
If the popup returns i will have to follow some of the instructions that you sent me in the link.

    Cheers the tinkster.

    Hello Tommy
Many languages for the Live Mesh, maybe you have to revisit the mentioned site, unistall, download & reinstall as proposed on this site?

    Hi Hanna,
The updater popup started again so i decided to uninstall windows live essentials and reinstall via instructions from your link.
Well it took 1hr to install and i can see all these foreign mesh things being installed,
i also disabled malwarebytes pro and avast free.
But same error code came up at the end, and lots of alerts saying dll's missing when trying to open any of the windows programs, and really hard to get off the screen.
So i decided to do a system resore which fixed it,but i'm back to square one with the updater popup.

Maybe it's time to uninstall as per the address above and download a localized version from here:

Windows Live Essentials 2011 Offline Installers Download Links For All Languages

Select the language you want, download & install.
That is what can I do for you, unless more skilled members do provide some idea's

    Hi Hanna,

In my screenshot it only shows the tip of the iceberg, there are about 50 more mesh installs all from different countrys.
So i decided to Individualy uninstall them, they were all about 5.38mb.
Then i uninstalled windows live essentials 2011 and deleted windows live folder from programs x86 and from common files. Then i ran the registry cleaner in ccleaner and restarted.
I then followed your link and installed from the English offline installer of windows live essentials, but did a custom install and unchecked the mesh(can't see that i would need it)and bing, and everything seems fine and it's running the latest edition and so far no updater popups.
    Thanks for your help.

Same sort of thing happening to me - Windows Live update showing in the notification area. It says it's installed but keeps coming up again and again no matter how many times it's installed.

Noticed Windows Live Mesh was in Add/Remove Programs in each and every language on offer!

Left it, but encountering a few bugs with Windows Live Mail so decided to uninstall Windows Live Essentials altogether. It said it uninstalled but remained in the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs and Messenger was starting upon bootup so was clearly still installed (although Windows Live Mail was gone).

So I individually removed all the Mesh installs and then tried again to uninstall Windows Live Essentials. It said it had uninstalled instantly but it kept showing in Add/Remove Programs and saying it was uninstalled every time I tried to do it.

Using the Microsoft FixIt below now but there must be about 100 installs showing of WLE and its components! It's going to be a long night.

Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled
