It looks like you have a corrupted file: sppobjs.dll. That's part of the Windows operating system, and it deals with software protection. Have you had any viruses lately or any other corruption/crashing problems? If not, you may be able to repair the file. Open up an elevated command prompt (run the cmd.exe file as administrator) and type "sfc /scannow". Allow the system to reboot and scan and repair damaged system files.

I had a similar problem for my one year old toshiba, and I restored to factory defaults using internal restore partition, and now it is as good as new. I recommend same treatment for your three year old toshiba.

Please run the following commands in an Elevated Command prompt window, and let us know the results.

    SFC /SCANFILE C:\Windows\system32\sppobjs.dll
    DIR C:\Windows\sppobjs.dll /s

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the CP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Windows, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

    Sorry - my mistake!

the first command should have been

    SFC /SCANFILE=C:\Windows\system32\sppobjs.dll

(MS is very inconsistent about the '=' in commands!)

    please try it again.

The file looks superficially OK - but I suspect that at some stage either the image in the winsxs folder has been corrupted by malware, and repaired, or that there are permissions problems.

    please run the following commands.

    Code:

    ICACLS C:\Windows\System32\sppobjs.dll
    ICALCS C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-s..y-spp-plugin-common_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_2136d8ac9cfcea8b /T
    ICACLS C:\Windows\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-s..y-spp-plugin-common_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_1f05c4e4a00e66f1 /T
Note that there are only three commands there!

Again, copy and paste the results to yorur reply.
