Deleting temporary update files will help solve the problem, but it will also delete the history in Windows Update. You can still see which updates are installed on your computer by going to Installed Updates
"quote" from here > Windows Update error 80070003

    Hello GradeAbra,

You might see if the KB article from Microsoft below may be able to help with this. :)

    Windows Update error 80070003

    OR

Option One here: Windows Update - Reset

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    EDIT:
LOL, Jacee beat me to it.

    Hi thanks for that brink.

By the way while i was clicking away playing around with my computer, i accidentally hit something and come across this message. I never come across this before. I am sure i have the correct product key all along. Could that be a bug that causes when i change my bios setting? Now everything is ok..

Did what Jacee and I posted sort your Windows Update issue?

Does your Windows 7 show as being activated and genuine in your "System" page? (Control Panel (icons view) -> System)

All looks good. No need to worry about the activation window you triggered by mistake since you are already activated. :)

I'm afraid I don't know since you were just clicking around randomly.
