Windows 7: Windows Update Folder

Windows Update Folder

Windows Update folder too large.
Windows Updates are kept in the folder"catroot"(windows/system32/catroot), I believe - and they may also be kept in "catroot 2).
I want to delete the folder as it's over 30 Gigs.
If I did so, the next time I downloaded windows updates, would windows automatically create a new folder (upon discovering that there is no update folder) in which to store the updates ?
Any suggestions ?
