New Windows 7 install and new Windows Update messed my OS

I installed a fresh Windows 7 x64 to my new pc. Everything went fine from the start.
My pc has really powerful cpu and gpu and dozen gb's of ram and is running on ssd drive.

After the Windows was installed I plugged it to the network. It found an update for the Windows Update Agent and after that was installed it installed something like a hundred updates (not sure how many there were).
After that everything was ok for some time (for several reboots).

Later on the install day something very strange happened.
    - All the icons on the Explorer disappeared and after a few seconds they reappeared again, huh?
    - None of the Libraries links works now (I can still go to the folder directly with explorer)
    - Control Panel: User Accounts -> changed to User Accounts (32bit) <- and that link gives an error code
    - System Restore is not able to restore to any point

Was someone remotely hacking to my pc or what did happen?

Lets cross of the list of possible virus, so give this a go:

Do a full scan of your system using: Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows

Afterwards: Malwarebytes : Free anti-malware download

If nothing pops up for both of those,

    try: Windows Defender Offline

Thanks for your help, good tips.

I scanned the drive and found no viruses and then formatted it with Linux with no luck.
Then I gave up and shipped it back to the dealer.

Few days later I bought same drive model from another dealer.

Problem is now solved. It was a faulty SSD drive (Corsair Force GT 120GB, the Red one). No issues since.

The one that I shipped back.. I haven't yet got new drive back or any information. No idea what is taking so long.
