Activation lasts until you reinstall it.

..........From now on I will preach the following to others who have Win 7: After your first activation and if you don't change bios or motherboard then you really don't have to reactivate it AGAIN!!! You might get black backgrounds and stupid notices that you win 7 is not valid or the real thing. IGNORE THOSE THING AND GO ON COMPUTING!!!!
MICROSOFT IS JUST TRYING TO STEAL YOUR MONEY.
BY THE WAY I THINK WIN 8 WILL JUST BE A FAILURE. IT CAN'T COMPETE WITH APPLE IPAD OR IPHONE AND CERTAINLY NOT ANDROID!!
For long on, I have been preaching, right when you are installing a new OS and when you have 30 days to activate, get hold of any good free imaging software, create a recovery CD for running it from your optical drive/bootable pen drive, practice saving and restoring the system images to get familiarised with it, and then when you have activated, grab an image and save it safely. You will never again need to activate it on the same PC - provided you haven't made substantial hardware changes.

And then, we will have much less heartburns and missing beer cans like this. :)

So really like I said before the only thing I had to tell them when I did reactivate was how many computers the win 7 was being used on. Just ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope Microsoft gets it act together and not think it is god.

I can't even begin to choose a starting point to address all of the incorrect, false, and generally nonsensical information you've posted in this thread.

I don't believe it's Microsoft that needs to get its act together.
