    Windows Update Error code 8024402C

    Hi,
    I have tried every possible solution including scanning system using nod32, disabling firewall, adding trusted sites, checking host file, checking proxy, microsoft fix it service, and resetting windows update components; but it doesn't work. Can anybody help me? Thank you very much.

    Unlikely, since the Windows updates addressesare pretty much hard-coded into the system to prevent spoofing.

    It may be worth checking DNS, though, as malware can get in the way.

    It is very weird as it is working now. Currently I am using 4G telstra mobile network. I have read some information regarding error code 8024402C, and one of the things is about proxy server. I have checked everything including proxy server configuration (in Internet Explorer), but nothing went wrong. Then I came up with the idea of switching to another network (use my friend's wifi network), & it worked. After that, I switched back to my own network, & the error came up again :) . I think it is more related to my ISP network configuration. Anyway, thank you very much for your helps, guys.

    I have occasional problems with my 3G provider as well - they use transparent proxies, and it may be that it's these that are causing the problems.

    @zeamann

    Please start a new thread of your own - it will ensure that you get best attention (networking is not my strongest suit!)
    Having said that, I can;t see any reference in the DNS to your router/Access point/Gateway - it's referring direct to OpenDNS and GoogleDNS servers. I would normally expect a reference to the access point, unless you have manually set DNS using those servers.
    You should consider setting the adapter settings back to default throughout, until the problem is isolated and resolved - some ISP's can get snotty about you not using their DNS servers, I believe.
