Restart Your Computer To Finish Installng Important Updates Probs
I've tried every reg hack and policy edit I could find but i cannot disable the windows update dialog box: Restart Your Computer To Finish Installng Important Updates.
This setting is driving me mad! I want it to go away as I am usually in the middle of something very important when it pops up.
NOTE: It's NOT stuck in a loop. I just want it to NOT prompt me after an update. I reboot each day.
NOTE 2: I know that disabling the windows update service gets rid of the message. That's not what I'm looking for. I want the dialog box to be extinguished forever.
So far, I've done both of these things:
Policy Editor:
- No Auto-Restart with logged on users for Scheduled automatic updates installations = Enabled
- Re-prompt for restart with sceheduled installations - Enabled (Delay set to 1440 minutes)
- Delay Restart for scheduled installations = Enabled
Registry:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\ForcedReboot = 0
None of this has ANY effect. As soon as a new update is installed it prompts me anyway.
PLEASE help. I'm desperate for a solution and I'm not finding anything on any forums. They just post the same edits I've listed above which are not working.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate which has all important and critical patches installed.
