    Both look fine!
    But why did you post:

Try to uninstall IE9 preferable in safe mode. What error message does it give you?

Just tried to uninstall in safe mode, but I got the same message as when I tried to do this in normal mode "An error has occurred. Not all the updates were successfully uninstalled"

This seems to be a big problem, but as I never use IE, I use google chrome, or sometimes firefox, so do I need to worry about this update. If I don't bother about it any more is it likely to stop and further windows updates?

All other windows updates should install fine. Just test it!

OK, I will wait until the next Windows update to see if they install. If they don't I will revisit here, but in the meantime, a big thank you to everyone who suggested ways to solve my problem
