Thank you for all the guidance. I created the folder, copied in the indicated files, and re-ran SURT.

Looking good :) There's another error that's turned up in this run, but we'll handle that afterwards.

    Almost there!
I tried to re-install the updates. KB2676562 still fails, now with an error code of 8024200D.
However, the other 3 updates that wouldn't go through now have been successfully updated and installed!

8024200D is a common error following the fix that we just did. Fortunately, the solution is much easier. Just download and install the update from the following link:

Download: Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2676562) - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details

Use Internet Explorer (IE) to do this as MS will want to check that you have a genuine OS installed.

YES- it worked!! Tom, I can't thank you enough for taking the time to help. Prior to finding this forum, I've spent the past 2 months trying to get assistance from the Microsoft Support site, and also tried HP support (2 hours of being online with them:[) with little success. I should have come here first! The tutorials are a great resource as well.
    Cheers-

    Hi Matie,

That's great news, thanks for letting us know! You're most welcome for the help, I enjoy working with CheckSUR logs :) People who work with CheckSUR logs are few and far between and, in all of my time working with them, I've never seen anyone from MS Answers demonstrate any understanding of them. I couldn't comment on the HP website, but from what you've said, it sounds similar.

The tutorials are great and Brink (one of our Admins here) dedicated a lot of his time towards making them :)

Edit: No worries buddy, my rep count is the least of my worries.
