Windows 7 Build 7601 Not Genuine error code

Hi, recently my computer has been showing some interesting errors.

Firstly, my computer began signing into a temporary account profile when I tried to log into my main one. This only happened occasionally and with a few restarts I was able to get into my main account.

Then it began getting worse very quickly. I was not able to log into my account at all, it started to always log me into this "temporary profile" for whatever reason, I couldn't work out at all. Then after a few restarts to try to get it to work again, windows began to tell me after log on that my copy of windows isn't genuine! Which I am very very sure it is, as it's a store bought computer which came with windows 7 pre-installed and I have been using it for almost a year now.

So right now I am stuck on a temporary profile, which is saying my windows 7 copy isn't genuine.

I've saw a lot of people get this fixed on here so I thought I'd give it a shot to see if anyone could help me out with this.

    Thanks in advance.

P.S I tried to run MGADiag and copy the results but got an error saying "Failed to create output files, hr = 0x80070002. Please contact support"

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

    https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/234159-windows-genuine-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/Hardware.aspx

**ignore** the erro message when clicking Copy - it will still paste fine.

If I'm looking at the correct sticker then the version and edition is "Windows 7 Home Prem OA" and there's a bunch of other numbers on there like one is "584037 - 001" and another is "X16 - 96072". I'm not sure if that's the information you need or not but that's all i could find (other than the product key)

Also here is my MGADiag log:

Please run the following command from an Elevated Command Prompt window(1)

Copy and paste set of commands below into the window – once completed, hit the Enter Key to ensure that the last command has run (2)

    REG QUERY HKU
    REG QUERY HKU\S-1-5-20
    REG QUERY HKU\S-1-5-20\Environment
    REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\S-1-5-20"

Copy the whole output to your response(3)

Here are some instructions to make life easier :)
    1) To open an Elevated Command Prompt Window (the CP window), click on Start, All Programs, Accessories – then right-click on Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator. Accept the UAC prompt.
    2) To run the commands easier, highlight the block of commands, and right-click on the highlight – select Copy. In the CP Window, click on the black/white icon at top left – select Paste. The commands will run but may not complete the last command, so hit the Enter Key once.
    3) To copy the results... click on the Black/White icon in the top left, and select Edit... 'Select All', and hit the Enter key - then use Ctrl+V or r-click+Paste to paste it into your response.

...and that's why it's important to read and follow the instructions :)

    C:\Windows\system32>REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
    \ProfileList\S-1-5-20
ERROR: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value.

(confession time - I'm as bad as anyone else at that! <g>)

OK - so what to do about it?

    Let's back up a little....
run the following command in an Elevated Command Prompt, and post the results.

    REG QUERY "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList" /S

Sorry- that one was my fault (I missed the closing quote off the command, so the system thinks the /S switch is part of the path)

Please tryagain, copying from my amended post.
