Unable to Update; Error Code 80224402C. New installation and 7 user

Hello, I just installed and activated my windows 7 yesterday on my new SSD drive. So far I am very happy with my upgrade, but for one problem. I can not update at all. Since yesterday I have tried five times with no success. I keep getting the same error message; Error Code 80224402C. I am using AVG as my virus software. Thinking it may be interfering with the update I disabled it and the win7 firewall. The results were the same. You assistance with this problem will be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank your for the response. Based on your recommendations I took the follow action:

    1) Ran Windows Update Reset Option three. I got the same results- Error code 8024402C

    2) I downloaded and ran Kb947821 a 340Mb file. I again got the same results and same error code.

Should I be thinking of reloading the OS at this time?

    Update:
I was able to to update to SP1 by downloading the application available form the MS support site and I also upgrade ie9. But still no luck with the windows update link. I continue to get the same old error code. 8024402C.

PS: I have no problem updating AVG.

I continue to have the same problem. Additionally I have tried the following fixes with no success:

    1) Added MS update web site to the trusted sites under IE 9 Security tab.

    2) Used MS "fixit".

    3) Flushed DNS.

    4) Set all LAN setting to automatic detect under connection tab in IE 9.

Even when I try to download my old printer drivers I get the same message.

    Help, what am I missing?

Should I post windowsupdate.log content? I sure do not know how to read it.

    Just in case....

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we may be able to see what the problem is.

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!

Attached this the out put as requested. On your second question I am not sure what you are looking for me to provide? The win7 disk comes in a sleeve with the activation code in the back. The DVD itself has a part no. FQC-03123. It has a holographic image label "licensed for use only by students or faculty. Thank you again.

What I was expectng to see in the report isn't present (a ruck of File mismatches and tampers) so I'll duck out.
If MS can't fix it easily, at least we haven't missed anything obvious!
