how to reapply specific updates after rollback to a restore point?
Hi!
In response to a system update, I selected all updates, both recommended and optional, and let them be installed.
After rebooting, the screen came back in 800 x 600. It occurred to me that the brilliant system update did not make the best recommendation, and it had probably written over my display driver.
After looking around for advice, I wanted to roll back just the display driver, but in the driver properties this option was not available. So I rolled back the system to the last restore point prior to the update.
Voila, my screen came back to native resolution and my machine works again.
However, now there are 55 important updates, several of them security related, which show up in the update history, but which are probably not actually applied now.
When I run the system update, it only comes with 1 new update. In the update history log, it shows the updates which have been rolled back, with the date on which they were originally applied. So I think that the log is probably wrong.
How to reapply them?
I thought the logical thing would be to right-click on each update in the log and select reapply - but that does not exist!
Any geniuses out there who can point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance.
