I have been doing quite well, the AVG Secure Search files along with the registry files have all been removed.
The only problem is I cannot remove C:\Windows\ProgramData\AVG. I then realised that the AVG file was locked (padlock) so I unlocked the file. I have tried using REVO to remove the whole file, the sub files etc but it cannot locate them?
These are views of the files as I am not sure where to go from here:
Open Windows Explorer
right-click on the AVG entry
Select Properties
Clear the 'blob' form the 'Read-only' box, and click Apply
Accept the default when the warning comes up - to apply to all files and folders.
when complete, OK out
Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus K52F OS Win 7 x64 Home Premium (and x86 VirtualBox VM) CPU i3 370M Motherboard Asus Memory 8GB - finally :) Graphics Card it's an i3, dude! Sound Card onboard Monitor(s) Displays 15.6" built-in Screen Resolution 1366x768

Unfortunately I have a problem with the commands Elevated Command Prompt as below.
I did try clearing the 'blob' on AVG but a window appears with 'Access denied, you need administrators permission'.

Some forward progress but still some problems. Elevated Command Prompts worked, see list, I then cleared the blob in AVG, continues on access denied, OK'd the changes to folder etc, and the OK's the AVG properties (blob had gone). Opened AVG properties again and the blob has returned?
