Please export the Event logs for the Windows Application and System events (as evtx files), an compress and upload them - there may be some clues there. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus K52F OS Win 7 x64 Home Premium (and x86 VirtualBox VM) CPU i3 370M Motherboard Asus Memory 8GB - finally :) Graphics Card it's an i3, dude! Something else, I removed this update today, only temporarily to stop the pop up reminders. Hope that is OK? Microsoft has released an update to Windows 7 Activation Technologies (KB971033), which improves its effectiveness and success rate to detect more than 70 known and potentially dangerous activation bypasses, cracks or exploits. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number MESH OS Windows 7 Home Premium x32. 6.1.7601 Service Pack 1 Build 7601 CPU AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ 2200 Mhz Motherboard ASUSTek A8N-E Memory 3.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR @ 200Mhz Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 5450 Sound Card AMD High Definition Audio Device-Realtek AC'97 Audio Monitor(s) Displays ViewSonic VX912-3 Screen Resolution 1280x1024@60Hz Keyboard Microsoft Wireless 2000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless 2000 Hard Drives Maxtor 245GB 6L250S0 ATA Device SATA II 3.0Gb/s |

It's up to you - I will need it present to be able to properly fix the problem, since it is involved in a fair amount of the processing in the MGADiag report. All removing it does is hide the current problem, and potentially leave your system open to further unnoticed degredation.
As for the Event log, it appears to be only the log of errors from teh ATI Catalyst Conrol Center, not the Windows logs I need.
Open Event Viewer
In the left column, expand the Windows logs
Highlight the Application entry and right-click on it
Select 'Save All Events as...'
enter 'Application' in the File name box, and save the file to the Desktop
Repeat for the System log
Now close Event Viewer
On the desktop, highlight the two new files, and right-click - select 'Sent to..' > Compressed file
Accept the default - this will create the zip file on the desktop.
You can then attach the file you your reply. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus K52F OS Win 7 x64 Home Premium (and x86 VirtualBox VM) CPU i3 370M Motherboard Asus Memory 8GB - finally :) Graphics Card it's an i3, dude! That'll do nicely.
I can't believe we've got this far through the thread without me asking for a CHKDSK - there are signs of possible problems with teh hard drive. Please run a full CHKDSK and SFC scan.... Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories Right-click on the Command Prompt entry Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up. At the Command prompt, type CHKDSK C: /R and hit the Enter key. You will be told that the drive is locked, and the CHKDSK will run at he next boot - hit the Y key, and then reboot. The CHKDSK will take a few hours depending on the size of the drive, so be patient! After the CHKDSK has run, Windows should boot normally (possibly after a second auto-reboot) - then run the SFC. SFC -System File Checker - Instructions Click on Start > All Programs > Accessories Right-click on the Command Prompt entry Select Run as Administrator and accept the UAC prompt - the Elevated Command Prompt window should pop up. At the Command prompt, type SFC /SCANNOW and hit the Enter key Wait for the scan to finish - make a note of any error messages - and then reboot. Copy the CBS.log file created to your desktop (you can't manipulate it directly) and then compress the copy and upload it to your SkyDrive (http://skydrive.live.com ) and post a link to it so that I can take a look. Post a new MGADiag report with details of any error messages encountered. | My System Specs | | Computer type Laptop System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus K52F OS Win 7 x64 Home Premium (and x86 VirtualBox VM) CPU i3 370M Motherboard Asus Memory 8GB - finally :) Graphics Card it's an i3, dude!
