I do not wish to distract from the problem I have but even though I ran the 'AVG Removal Program' you sent me, I find that there are many registry files left still. Is that a problem?

Did you run the correct version of the tool (there are currently 4 versions- 2x 32-bit and 2x 64-bit) I would recommend running both the 2012 and 2013 versions and see if it makes any difference.

I am glad you up and running again.

I did actually run the 2012 and the 2013 at 32bit, I suppose it would not hurt to run them again to see if there are any changes?

I have run both 2012 and 2013 AVG removal tools, it requested a reboot 5 times but from the log it appears there are still registry problems.
