Hi ROBO731,

Which command gives you the access is denied error?

It's the sfc /scannow command. Also, If I use a copy of windows 7 that I have used once already can I use it again for the clean install and then simply use the product key on the bottom of the laptop?

Could you zip up the CBS log and attach it to your next post please?

C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

You have a lot of files missing, so I'm not all that surprised that sfc.exe didn't work. I think our best bet is to do a clean install:

Sorry, the command that wasn't working was the %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt command. Either way, I think I'm just gonna do the clean install. If I start the clean install and later discover that the product key won't work, is there anyway to go back. I have made backups.

The command was:

COPY %windir%\Logs\CBS\CBS.log %userprofile%\Desktop\CBS.txt

But it doesn't matter any more

If it works now, then it's almost certainly going to work again. If you want something to fall back on, image with Macrium:
