Do you actually have an ordinary Admin user account, or have you crippled the system?
Sorry, I didn't realise that. I do have an Admin user account, but when that didn't work I tried running your command lines as Administrator. I've gone back now to the user account and re-run them again but still no luck.



One thing I have noticed though is that in your instructions for re-creating the licensing store, this time tokens.dat has not been re-created after being renamed to tokens.bar and a successful activation. I assumed that a new tokens.dat should be recreated.

At the same time, when I click 'Copy' in MGADiag to copy the report to the clipboard, I get the message "Failed to create output files, hr=0x80070002". However, the report is still in the clipboard, so I've pasted it below:

The 'Copy' error with MGADiag is not unusual - it simply means that the rtool was unable to save the backup files it creates (in this case because the tokens.dat file wasn't there to be backed up)

The failure to create a new tokens.dat file often means ccorruption in the registry....
please run teh following commands, and post the results.

The only odd thing I can see there (apart from the missing tokens.dat file) is that the LocalService\NTUSER.DAT file is not hidden

perhaps a clue?

There are some odd entries in that earlier list of read-only files - we'd best re-check it, since that was run in the Administrator account....

No problem - I've been able to keep busy

There's no problem with that output.

I'll review what I've already tried elsewhere, and see if I can come up with a plan of attack.
