Will a Windows 7 Product key work with different disk of same version

    Hi,

I had a scare with my computer yesterday and almost had to reinstall but realized that my install disk seems to be missing. I was wondering if I borrowed a windows 7 home premium install disc from my friend would I be able to use my product key (On bottom of laptop) to install correctly using their disc.
    Any help is appreciated

If the disk you use in the exact same system as your COA yes you can.
Example: Windows 7 Home Premium/64 disk and a COA key that reads the same Windows 7 Home Premium/64. When you buy Windows operating system the COA is what you are really paying for. That gives you the right to use the operating system on the disc where/wheir ever it came from. This will also be of great help.

Not sure what you mean by "The X***** number for mine is X17-96072".

Your system specs say you have Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

The English version of that is X17-58997.iso.

You need to download whatever version matches your product key. No more, no less.

The number you are concerned with are 5 groups of 5 letters and or numbers each.
DO NOT post them on line.
