Invalid Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit

Hey all, new to the Forum here. I have this problem when trying to activate Windows 7 Pro. 64 Bit. I just reinstalled my OS and everything is running fast and smooth. Just having problems activating Windows....

I try to input the product key and get an invalid product key error. Now the only place I have the code written is on the actual CD i have for Windows, and that is just a burnt copy. The key and OS was from my old college I went to 3 or 4 years ago and it was legit. Everything was genuine and validated fine but now I am having problems.

Now is there a way to call up Microsoft and have them run my laptop hardware or something to show that this is the same laptop and same hardware i have been using for the past 4 years and have them get me an activation code????

I cant afford to buy a new copy for 300 bucks. Is there hope for me?

In order to completely troubleshoot Windows validation & activation issues, please perform the following:

    1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

    2. Run the tool, and then click 'Copy' - ignore any errors if they appear

    3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the validation tool here in your next reply

OK. It clearly shows as not being activated, and in still in the grace period (I guess because it will not accept your key).

This is a System Builder OEM. You say you got that from your college?
