    i just retried it and its successfully validated. thanks alot...really happy right now cos this huge problem for me is solved right now. may God reward you immensely. even i just installed microsoft security essentials, it was suggested to me after the validation process. but already i did have avast antivirus, hope the two are compatible and can work well together?

    NO!
    Never install two resident AV's and have both running - they WILL interfere, and cause problems.
    I would recommend uninstalling one or the other, rather than just disabling one.

    I'd use MSE.

    Other tips for setting up your Win7 perfectly are the same as in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

    As it suggests once you get it set up and running perfectly, save a Win7 backup image so you never have to reinstall again - just reimage the HD or its replacement in 20 minutes using System Image Recovery
