Good - looks like it's just the one file to fix, then (at least for the moment)
I'm going to ask an expert to do this one - more as a training exercise for me - so please wait until Tom982 gets back to us.

Hello Everen1,

Please download the attached file, wcp.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Extract the zip file here, you should see one file wcp.dll. Copy and paste this file into the following folder:

C:\Windows\winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-servicingstack_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17514_none_0b66cb34258c936f\

Let me know if there's a file in there.

Then I would like you to set the permissions on this file to TrustedInstaller by following this tutorial:

TrustedInstaller - Restore as Owner - Vista Forums

I know it's a tutorial for Vista, but it still applies to Windows 7.

(Thanks, Tom)

Once you've managed to do that, please run CheckSUR again, and post the new log file.
Then reboot, and try the SP1 install again - please quote exactly any error messages you get.

No worries.

Knew I'd forgotten something!

The file is already in the folder and it will not let me move the new one into it. It says I do not have permission.

The first one were all successes.
The second one says
TrustedInstaller: No mapping between account names and security IDs was done. Successfully processed 0 files; Failed processing 1 files

I was afraid that might happen - I can never remember to put the proper service name in!
try this one....
