Great - now please run the CheckSUR tool again, and we'll see if it's fixed the error and/or shown more problems up.
Great - now please run the CheckSUR tool again, and we'll see if it's fixed the error and/or shown more problems up.
OK - we'll try it another way if the following doesn't change things....
Please run (yet) another SFC /SCANNOW, and post the new CBS.log.
I have to go out - and may not get back online until the morning
is the resulting error list - which isn't as bad as it may look at first glance.Code:2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 0000030d [SR] Verify complete 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 0000030e [SR] Repairing 2 components 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 0000030f [SR] Beginning Verify and Repair transaction 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 00000310 Hashes for file member \SystemRoot\WinSxS\amd64_prnhp004.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_306093dc85bc087c\Amd64\hpD5400t.dll do not match actual file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hpD5400t.dll" : Found: {l:32 b:eyEmNxKQ2ojiP++LmfX2gjhnCGxuFbIhBTuUIHoyc/0=} Expected: {l:32 b:j26INQbRcegQ2fICElaxrwMOE7oWdfpcUHTJ0shjSgA=} 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 00000311 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hpD5400t.dll" of prnhp004.inf, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type = [l:24{12}]"driverUpdate", TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 00000312 Hashes for file member \SystemRoot\WinSxS\amd64_prnhp005.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_30e9a6119eda44e5\Amd64\hp6500nt.vdf do not match actual file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hp6500nt.vdf" : Found: {l:32 b:7HNUX7G0W1fz4dW9B72BynBVO0x9hQsu3FRsERBkN4g=} Expected: {l:32 b:2z5+NfDzSDG+46PjT/vT2K66PR6S9sA1Uk5y1j/BaTM=} 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 00000313 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hp6500nt.vdf" of prnhp005.inf, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type = [l:24{12}]"driverUpdate", TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 00000314 Hashes for file member \SystemRoot\WinSxS\amd64_prnhp005.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_30e9a6119eda44e5\Amd64\hpfpaw73.dll do not match actual file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hpfpaw73.dll" : Found: {l:32 b:uq3qdWmbOBFGH63clx/gQx5uchPBJVVgxStOO1XVL5Y=} Expected: {l:32 b:v9O+UyCwVzImfp9Ebn2B23OxEsSNT6S9Q0Gvmt+JABo=} 2012-11-13 12:29:09, Info CSI 00000315 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hpfpaw73.dll" of prnhp005.inf, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type = [l:24{12}]"driverUpdate", TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch 2012-11-13 12:29:10, Info CSI 00000316 Hashes for file member \SystemRoot\WinSxS\amd64_prnhp005.inf_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16385_none_30e9a6119eda44e5\Amd64\hp6500nt.vdf do not match actual file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hp6500nt.vdf" : Found: {l:32 b:PRGKDBvK0sw34Ejut5v5y4rHqCWIGuwLpwootBp5Eq4=} Expected: {l:32 b:2z5+NfDzSDG+46PjT/vT2K66PR6S9sA1Uk5y1j/BaTM=} 2012-11-13 12:29:10, Info CSI 00000317 [SR] Cannot repair member file [l:36{18}]"Amd64\hp6500nt.vdf" of prnhp005.inf, Version = 6.1.7600.16385, pA = PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE_AMD64 (9), Culture neutral, VersionScope = 1 nonSxS, PublicKeyToken = {l:8 b:31bf3856ad364e35}, Type = [l:24{12}]"driverUpdate", TypeName neutral, PublicKey neutral in the store, hash mismatch 2012-11-13 12:29:10, Info CSI 00000318 [SR] This component was referenced by [l:186{93}]"Microsoft-Windows-Printer-Drivers-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7600.16385.INF_prnhp005" 2012-11-13 12:29:10, Info CSI 00000319 Repair results created: POQ 124 starts:
I'll draw up a repair protocol over the next 24 hours - if you haven't heard from me by then, please shout!
I get a lot of blue screens of death, could this be what is causing them?
They all appear to be related to print drivers - does that ring bells?
I'm working on your fix now :)
I've uploaded a file - everen.zip - to my SkyDrive at https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=936736BB8FCEB92F&id=936736BB8FCEB92F%21526
Please download and save it.
Right-click on the saved file and select Extract all...
Change the target to C:\ and click on Extract
This should create a folder C:\everen
Close all windows (it would be a good idea to print these instructions!)
Now reboot to the Repair Environment - as soon as the machine restarts, start tapping F8 - this should bring up the Advanced Boot Menu, at the top of which should be the option 'Repair my Computer'
Pick that
You'll have to log in with your username and password.
Pick the option to use a Command Prompt
At the prompt type
DIR C:\everen
hit the enter key - if you get a 'Not Found' error try
DIR D:\everen
or
DIR E:\everen
The drive letter in use when you find the folder will need to be substituted (for<drive>) into the following command...
XCOPY <drive>:\everen <drive>:\windows\winsxs /y /i /s /v /h
run the command (it should take almost no time)and when the prompt return, type
EXIT
and hit the Enter key to exit Command Prompt - reboot to Normal Mode Windows.
Now run SFC /SCANNOW in an Elevated Command Prompt
then reboot and upload the new CBS.log file to your SkyDrive Public folder, and post a new link
Also run a new MGADiag report, and post the result.
Here's the CBS.log file...

And here's the MGADiag report

The report looks good - and the CBS log is clear.
I think we've got it :)
Now please reboot once more and then try installing SP1 using the offline installer (rather than Windows Updates)
