That sounds like it kickstarted the device enumeration! - which is good news, I think :)

    this is my theory:

    - When I rebuilt the laptop, I had installed the IRST drivers.

    - I installed the Turbo Memory card, and installed its drivers, which also installed Intel Matrix Storage Manager (this is an assumption) and it must have overwrote(?) IRST...

    - This put the laptop in a twilight zone state, which caused Win7 to think it was now illegitimate

Attempting to uninstall Matrix seems to cause devices to no longer be recognized. Now I am unable to even get IRST to recognize my laptop. I reinstalled Matrix and the Turbo Memory driver (they come together in the installer) and the device driver issue is gone.

So basically I am right back where I started at the beginning of this thread.

    Any ideas? I am

In that case it would seem that removing the Turbo Memory is going to happen regardless, since that version of Matrix doesn't support it. I have installed, we shall see if the error goes away.

OK - lets see if a little surgery helps.....

Please run the following commands in an Elevated Command Prompt
    NET STOP CRYPTSVC
    REN C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CATROOT2 CATROOT2OLD
    NET START CRYPTSVC
once complete, leave the system alone for at least an hour to rebuild the database, then reboot, and run another MGADiag report.
Note that this will delete your Update History - but all updates will remain installed, and can be viewed in the Installed Updates listing.

Please upload the dberr file - it may give me some leads.... historically, if the IRST driver update doesn't work, and the Catroot2 rebuild doesn't work, then a repair install has been the only solution - but I'd like to find a better one :)
