    Windows 7 update continually failing

I have 23 important window updates, and every time I try to update my computer these fail! I have tried the fix it tool thats reccommended but that didn't work either.

It says the file or directory is corrupted or unreadable and the error code is

    ERROR_FILE_CORRUPT(0x80070570)

    thankyou

    Hi,

Open a command Prompt by right clicking and select 'Run as Administrator' and then at the command prompt type: chkdsk /f /r then press the enter key.
Also run the SFC /SCANNOW command. This will check and repair if necessary any critical Windows system files.
    Click on Start/All programs/Accessories then
Right click on Command Prompt option and select 'Run as administrator'.
At the command prompt enter: SFC /SCANNOW

If the issue still persists, you can refer to the URL mentioned for further troubleshooting: A Consuming Experience: Vista: Windows Update error 80070570 problem - how to fix

Hi, the first thing won't work as it keeps saying that it cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts? ... I have restarted my laptop a couple of times and this still won't work.

the SFC SCAN also didnt completely work... it says.. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are inculded in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log.
    For example C:\windows\Logs\CBS\CBS\.log

and my system is not a VISTA.. does that matter with the website you gave?

    Hi,

I am aware about your system OS. That tutorial steps will work for Win 7 as well, try following those steps and let me know the status.

Please attach a copy of your CBS.log file to your response (Copy the file to the desktop, then attach the copy- the original cannot be worked on, as it's permanently in use)
Then we can see what's wrong.
