Maybe I read it wrong but in one of your posts you said something like your friend key was the same as yours. If that is the case then you have the same make computers and the key you found was the one used by the maker during the imaging of multiple drives. you can't use that key for a reinstall. you must find the License COA sticker on the computer case, notebooks are usually under the battery, to use for a reinstall with media not supplied by the manufacturer.

In any event Good Luck. You are in good hand.
