Windows 7: Another TRUST_E NOSIGNATURE (0x8006100) problem with KB976932

01 Dec 2012   #11

Win 7 x64 Home Premium (and x86 VirtualBox VM)
Wales - probably in the pub

Still the same errors, so whatever you did, it didn't paste properly into the folder

Please run the following command, and post the results (may be a good idea to put it into a Code Box).

Tree C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSUR

Noel,

Thanks for your continuing interest and involvement.

I attach a copy of the Command Prompt Screen response. I'm not familiar with the use of a Code Box for transferring information.

Rgds.

I see what happened!
You copied the folder to the destination, rather than copying the content
Open the actual Packages folder you downloaded and extracted, hit Ctrl+A to highlight all, and Ctrl+C to Copy them
Now navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSUR folder and right-click on the Packages subfolder - select Paste
Repeat for the Manifests folder(s)

Noel,

My apologies for mis-interpreting your original instructions and subsequent confusion.

I have hopefully copied the files to the correct folders and have run the Check SU tool.

I attach the two CheckSUR logs.

Rgds.

It's still not working properly for some reason - let's have a look and make sure that things are where they should be,

Run the following commands, and post the results

DIR C:\Windows\Temp\Package_1_for_KB979900*.* /S
DIR C:\Windows\Temp\amd64_wpf-presentationhostproxy_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16542*.* /S

Noel,

I attach a file showing the Command Prompt responses.

Between me submitting my first response today and receiving your reply, a power cut caused my PC to shutdown instantly and I could not reboot it normally. I ended up having to allow an automatic System Restore to `repair' the system. The PC rebooted and appears to functioning normally now. I pasted the files into the manifest and package folders after the PC had been restored to life. I don't know whether or not the `repair' has effected the contents of any of the folders which are involved with the present upgrade problem.

Thanks for your persistence.

Rgds.

All sort of things can happen in such circumstances.

We'd best have another SFC /SCANNOW run, and see the CBS.log as well (the CheckSUR seems to be the same as ealrier - please post the Directories I requested in #15 )

Ah - the files are there, but in the wrong places.
Lets try it this way.
Move the rob6491.zip folder to your desktop.
Now Extract all again- to the default location (which should beyour desktop)

Now open an Elevated Command prompt and run the following commands.

Code:

COPY %userprofile%\desktop\rob6491\manifests\*.* C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSUR\winsxs\manifests /V /Y
COPY %userprofile%\desktop\rob6491\packages\*.* C:\Windows\Temp\ChecKSUR\Servicing\packages /V /Y
Then close the Command Prompt window, and run CheckSUR again - post the CheckSUR.log file when complete
