Windows Update Service Not Running Error

Windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running a restart may be required.

I've restarted multiple times and it still does not work.

When I go to Services Windows Update does not show up
    I'm running Windows 7 64bit

    I attached 2 screenshots

The first one is of the Windows Update error I'm getting

The second one is of the Windows Services I have to prove that Windows Update isn't showing up at all.

    Help Please.

I've been following what it says there and now when I'm installing "System Update Readiness Tool" I got this error
    Installer encountered an error: 0x80070424
The specified service does not exist as an installed service

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I got the same exact error when trying to run Windows Defender

Please download the Farbar Service Scanner from

Run it, and tick all the options, then click on the Scan button - copy and paste the report to your response.

Hmmm - please also run the following commands, and post the results.

    NET START TRUSTEDINSTALLER
    NET START SPPSVC

Have you been using any kind of registry cleaner or optimiser???

    NET START TRUSTEDINSTALLER
The requested service has already been started.

More help is available by typing NET HELPMSG 2182.

    NET START SPPSVC
The software protection service is starting.
The software protection server was started successfully.

I used CCleaner a few weeks ago

Edit : I also use Malwarebytes, AdvancedSystemCare 6, and Auslogics Disk Defrag

Advanced System Care may well be the cause of your problems.
Certainly, earlier versions were known to break a number of services in both Vista and Win 7

I'll craft a repair fix in teh morning - I'm getting square eyes now!

I've uploaded a file (zoloxin.zip) to my SkyDrive at
    https://skydrive.live.com/#cid=936736BB8FCEB92F&id=936736BB8FCEB92F%21526

Pease download it and save it to your desktop
right-click on the file, and select Extract all....
Extract to the default location (which should be the desktop) - and then open the zoloxin folder, and right-click on the zoloxin.reg file it contains, and select Merge
    Accept the warnings.
You should get a success message.
    CLose all windows, and reboot.
now run another FSS scan and post the report.

Try running CheckSUR again - what happens?

I didn't get the error but instead it's installing Windows Hotfix

Edit : Windows update works now thanks a lot for your help.
    Have a nice day :)
