Windows 7 Update Boot Error Can only Boot in Safe Mode now

Windows 7 Update Boot Error

Maybe this should be under Windows update problems, however I'm not positive that it is an update problem. I have no clue why this is happening. I am running windows 7 64

My computer has been trying to do a system update for awhile. I would shut down the computer. Then upon boot up the computer would try to install the files. When windows would load, the load would fail and the computer would restart. Then the computer would remove the changes and reboot. Finally the computer would boot normally only to still need an update (obviously).

Today the computer is booting up getting to the windows loading screen only to cause the computer to "reboot". The problem is the computer will never reboot from here. Currently to access the computer I have to enter in through safe mode. There seems to be an error with the windows update software. I run Windows Update Trouble shoot and Error pop up that cannot be fixed.

I assume the problem with booting has something to do with this. As I am in safemode I am unable to uninstall and of the software updates. I am at a loss since I can only work with my computer from safe mode.

Any suggestions or tips?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hova

Boot into System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair repeatedly.

It should offer to System Restore. If not and it won't start Windows 7, boot back in to manually System Restore to before the problem began, working backward.

Otherwise start working through these steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start
reporting back results.

Thank you. I have already tried doing that. However there is one system restore point and it's after all this started, so when I restore the same problems continue to happen.

We've learned not to rule out infection on anything, so install and run a full Malwarebytes or run from boot Windows Defender Offline

Even though you can boot into Safe Mode I would still try Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times to see if the various automated repairs will resolve the problem.

If not try manually running from Safe Mode SFC /SCANNOW Command
or SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

These other Updates remedies might also help:
Windows Update - Reset - Windows 7 Forums

I would also work through the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7
or if necessary Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start which leads up to if necessary rescuiing your files to run Factory Recovery or get the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

I ran MSEssentials. It did find 2 things and successfully removed them but to little avail.

Even though you can boot into Safe Mode I would still try Startup Repair - Run up to 3 Separate Times to see if the various automated repairs will resolve the problem.

I have run this several times. Normally the first time I run it there are two errors that are "Not Fixed". The second time and any time after there is only one "Not Fixed Error" - the error that I originally posted.

If not try manually running from Safe Mode SFC /SCANNOW Command
or SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

I tried this and the scan found nothing.

I will start trying the rest of the suggestions you mentioned. Thank you for your help so far!

Hova, you'd actually likely save time if you'd just go ahead and follow the steps closely to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then stick with only the tools and methods in the tutorial to maintain it perfectly, save a Windows 7 backup image once it's setup and running best to use if it become defective in the future.

This time however add the extra step of wiping the HD first with Diskpart Clean Command
from the booted installer accessing DISKPART At PC Startup

I noticed when I try to "Repair Your Computer" it always fails because it thinks there is a USB device. I do have my mouse plugged in through USB but nothing else. Does this help any in solving this problem?
