Hi Vini,

I received a reply from Farbar:

Quote:
You may inform the user that indeed the reason FSS produced the output was due to peculiarity of home drive variable on their system that is deliberately set to D: by the user instead of C: (the system drive). On a default installation of Windows both are on the same drive.

FSS is now updated to cover this peculiarity.
Delete your current copy of FSS and try the new one:

Is it REALLY so unusual to have the user folders somewhere other than the C:/ ?

As far as I know Homedrive specifies the location of user profiles, which is why it is different than Systemdrive.

Anyway I am pleased to have helped Farbar add to the robustness of his program.

That looks good to me
...and along the way you've assisted another Dev!

The only thing slightly iffy is that the Windows Backup service appears to have been 'uninstalled' - or at least its entry removed from the registry - is this by design?

Err it says it doesn't exist/not installed.

Perhaps I uninstalled it after all - is it significant in size?

The registry Key is about 500 Bytes
The question is whether the relevant files still exist.
Perhaps the best way to find that out is to rebuild the relevant Key, and then see what falls over
(I don't have such numbers to hand)

Let me know.

All the searching I have done has pointed to doing a Windows Repair Install.

This is absolutely out of the question - I have not enough free space on which to do it, nor do I relish returning everything to the C:/ in preparation.

I'm going to search for a little long but if I come up blank I will just have live without backup (which I have done for a year).

When I get a new (bigger) SSD I was planning to clone my current one, but perhaps a fresh install at that time might be worth the effort.

Then again I doubt it.

I will let you know if I find a fix.
