The command was successfully excuted, but Windows update still failed. It seems to fail during the download portion on the update -- always at 87.2MB/29% complete.

Sorry, I meant to come back to update my previous post to say I was doing just what you suggested. It also fails with the 80070002 error code.
Noel, I appreciate all your help, but I think I'm gonna let this one go. I suspect that the only way to fix it is to perform a fresh install and I don't feel like going through the pain. Thank you for all the help.
