Windows 7: Windows not genuine message plus Error message 0x8000247

Open Windows Explorer (Computer)
Navigate to the C:\Windows folder
Find the System32 sub-folder and right-click on it
select Properties

Clear the 'blob' from the 'Read-only (Only applies to files in folder)' box by clicking on it until it's plain white.
Click on Apply.

Make sure that the radio button for 'Apply changes to this folder, subfolders and files' is set, and click OK.

Accept the Administrator prompt. After a couple of seconds, you'll be told there is an error - click on the 'Ignore all' button.

Wait for it to finish - it could take a couple of minutes.

OK out, and exit Windows Explorer.

Reboot twice

Post a new MGADiag report.

Please download the Chipset drivers from here... MEDION - Driver Details run them, and post a new MGADiag report.
Then try reinstalling the Intel Matrix drivers again, and post a new MGADiag report.

Please save the file to the desktop
Then open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command - this will create a log file, which may tell us what's going wrong (if anything) with the installation.

%userprofile%\desktop\IATA89ENU.exe -f%userprofile%\desktop\ismt.log -s


Then upload the logfile (ismt.log), and a new MGADiag report.

Hi Noel, I installed the new driver, but got the following when running the command:-

C:\Windows\System32>%userprofile%\desktop\IATA89ENU.exe -f%userprofile%\desktop\ismt.log -s
'C:\Users\Barry\desktop\IATA89ENU.exe' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

Any ideas?

That probably means that you didn't save the download to the desktop
If you move the download there, it should work.

You're correct, I didn't save it to the desktop! However, I now have and when I press 'enter' it looks for a second as if something is happening but then reverts to the command prompt.

That's fine - the imst.log file should have been created on the desktop - have a look and see.

That's the problem Noel, it isn't. I've also done a search for ismt.log and there's nothing.
However, and I don't know if it's relevant, I've just noticed that I have developed some text in the bottom LHS corner - above the time/date - which states:
'Windows 7
Build 7600
This copy of Windows is not genuine'?
