Problem with Windows Update Error Code 800B0100 Having a prob with this code. Will not update. I've tried all the patches shown here
including the stand alone installer, Fix It, with firewall off and other things but
nothing is working. So following the guide tutorial for posting a ZIP of the CBS,
here it is. I did the stand alone install and all it did was put one hotfix file in
but sorry I didn't get the number. Did a SFC /SCANNOW and it went all the way
and didn't do anything that I could see. The code pops up when trying to update.
No updates have been done on this unit. There was another User on here, but that
User got deleted by someone trying to fix all the viruses that were on this unit and
I'm trying to get it going. The Windows 7 64 bit was pre-installed on this unit. The Recovery
partition was deleted OR this unit never came with back up discs. It is a HP DV4-2058NR.
I have a number of Windows 7 Discs but all the COA's have been used, or I'd just do a
reformat and fresh install. So my only resort as far as I know is to try and get
this current install going again. Here is the CBS.
Any help is really appreciated, thanks

There's no sign of problems in your SFC/CBS log - but there are a number of problems in the CheckSUR log.

n2gc: If you have the Windows 7 disks, you can re-install with them.
Just use the COA on the machine sticker (bottom, side, or battery compartment). You cannot use the COA to upgrade - for that you'll need a new license.
It is perfectly legal to use the COA on the machine to reinstall the same product (Home, Ultimate, Professional, etc) shipped on the machine using any Windows install meda.
You might consider downloading the SP1 iso from the Dell site so you don't have to go through as many updates. Sorry Noel, our posts were as two ships passing in the night. I wrote mine solely in resonse to n2gc saying they weren't opposed to reinstalling. More of an option than a suggestion.
You posted "I'll look at trying to resolve the checksur issues...." at the same time I finished writing my post and had not seen yours.
Anyway, if the issues in checksur can be resolved - great! I'll leave this up to you and n2gc.
