The full error is "The product key you typed cannot be used to activate Windows on this computer" but it wouldn't fit in the title. I'm running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and when trying to acticate it I get this error. I get the same thing when trying to activate by phone. I bought this from Microsoft, so I know it is genuine. I used Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic tool (1.9.0027.0) to evaluate my system. This is what it gave me:

Hi,

Try the phone activation service again, but this time hold for a real person to answer:

1. Click Start, and in the Search box type : slui.exe 4
2. Press ENTER on your Keyboard
3. Select your Country.
4. Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.

Let us know how you get on.

I tried the phone activation again and it worked, maybe I entered the number wrong the first time.
