Boot problem after update, have ntbtlog file

Hi. My pc jeeps doing a reboot with the screen "Please wait, windows is configuring updates, etc" abd tgeb reboots.
I do not know if I can get a cbs file per instructions, I can access the relevant drive and "windows " folder- this is with a secondary installation of Win 7 on another drive. I was able tobring up a "repair windows" option by using F8, this does not work, but I was able to get and obtain a boot logging file "ntbtlog", which I will attach.
Any help would be appreciated. jeff

Can you boot into safe mode? Press F8 and choose safe mode. See if that works. If it boots into safe mode try seeing if it will boot normally next boot.

Yeah I had tried that, so I just tried it again to be sure. In safe mode, it loads the drivers, then it goes into that screen- "Preparing to configure windows, Please do not turn the computer off", then it just reboots. No going to the p/w screen.
I should mention, I had an earlier problem with erasing the bcd, but was able to recover it. I had first noticed this problem right before the thing with the bcd happened, but that took precedence. I don't think the two are related. I had been doing updates, and it had surprised me by asking to install 8 important updates which is what I set out to do.
    Thanks for response.

Note: about this issue. for someone with my relative training, I found a tool called 'Visual BCD", that was invaluable in solving the problem. I had read a bit about "Easy BCD", but the aforementioned one straightened it out ie: the Win 7 pro older drive unable to be read in MBR after a fresh installation of identical Win 7 pro on a new drive. It had showed up, but needed straightening out. Visual BCD. Beyond me, this stuff.

Did you try system restore from recovery environment? Restore points are listed? Just go back in time prior to problems.
