Tom,

When I paste the copied lines to the command prompt, it immediately displays the results as soon as I release the mouse. In other words, I am not doing anything except copying and pasting...I am not hitting the enter key.

Hi Louis,

No problem, we'll try another approach to avoid any formatting issue.

Please download the attached batch file, louk1.bat, and save this to the root folder of your system drive under the same name - e.g. C:\louk1.bat

Then open your start menu, type cmd and right-click > Run as administrator to bring up an elevated command prompt window. From here, I would like you to run this command please:

devxexec /user:TrustedInstaller C:\louk1.bat

This will output a log to C:\tom982.txt. Can you attach this to your next post please?

Hi Louis,

Could you try again, but at that error, just press OK please? I've tested that app quite a few times now, and everything has worked despite showing that error.

I'd check the existing permissions on the registry Key and see if they are screwed before attempting anything else - I've been a little busy today to test such things.

Tom,

I am not sure how to submit a reply to your private message so I will use this method. I have no problem with your proposal and am willing to proceed with it. Please give me directions and also tell me how to submit replies to your private messages. In your directions, please also tell me in what state to leave the computer...always on, sleep, etc.

Thanks again for your patience and help.
