    Hi Louis,

I just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you. The last few items that I have to fix are being a little troublesome, so I'm broadening my research and have started looking at the computers of other kind SF members to see if they have the registry keys/values that you are missing. I need to get my head down now, but I might be able to get a fix out for you tomorrow!

    Will keep you posted.

    Hi Louis,

Thanks to a few SF members, I've managed to source quite a few other components hives to check. I've just realised that the COMPONENTS hive of yours that I'm currently working on is a week old now so it would be much safer to work from your current one. I doubt anything has changed, but it's not worth the risk to be honest.

Would you mind uploading your COMPONENTS hive to your Dropbox please?

    C:\Windows\system32\config\COMPONENTS

    Thanks.

    Tom,

Here is latest components file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/eruskrdvrpyyrmt/components I notice the date remains the same as the first one that I sent you 7-10 days ago. Is that as it should be?

    Tom,

When I sent the last post with the components hive, I opened it from the link above and it looked very garbled. I deleted it from dropbox and I am now having trouble getting the file into dropbox. I will keep trying.

    Tom,

Here is the the components file.

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/eruskrdvrpyyrmt/components

As I said before, I notice that the date does not change on the file. Is that OK?

    Hi Louis,

Don't worry about the date, I don't know why that's happening, but this is definitely a different file!

Please can you follow method 2 of this tutorial to load your components hive for me:

    Accessing the COMPONENTS sub-hive | niemiro's Website

Then I would like you to download the attached file, Fix.reg and save this to your Desktop. Double click on this file then accept the prompt and this will be merged into your registry.

After you have done this, reboot your computer, run the System Update Readiness Tool and upload the log please:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

    Tom

Thanks to niemiro for the fix!

    Hi Louis,

No problem, my reply was a lot more delayed than yours!

Great! What was 4 errors, is now 2 - nearly there!

    Command Prompt

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

    1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
    2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
    3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

      REG EXPORT "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\PackageDetect\Microsoft-Windows-WindowsFoundation-LanguagePack-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~ko-KR~0.0.0.0" > %SYSTEMDRIVE%\tom982.reg

    4. This will create a text file called tom982.reg in the root folder of your main drive (e.g. C:\tom982.txt). Please attach this to your next post.
