"Windows could not check for updates automatically" message

When I turn on my computer the"Windows could not check for updates automatically" message has been appearing for about six weeks It also says click here to check for updates now.
I click and the message tells me to restart to install most recent updates.
It lists my most recent updates as 11/14/12.
Yet when I check for my Windows Update History, all my updates are current thru today's date.

Why does this message always appear about Windows failing to update automatically, yet when I look at my updates they are all current?

MBAM Pro settings - how to automatically get "missed updates"?
I've been struggling with this problem (clearly must be a settings issue), but cannot seem to figure out what to do in order to avoid the problem symptom. Either that, or it's a program bug (which I will report on the MBAM forum, but I hate to post there because of "attitude"). I would like...

Hello, trying to get my Windows to update. When I tell it to try, it scans for a while and them stops. No error code, it's just in red and listed as an important message in the action center. (Before people tell me to try in Safemode, I did, and you can't. Even though Microsoft says to try...

Windows automatically updates even if I set to "let me choose"
I am not sure why but I've already set updates to "check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them". But still windows automatically updates and restarts. The bad thing is I was working on some programming project for school and restarting without saving is really annoying....
