Consecutive failed SP1 Update error 800B0100

I have had SP1 fail every single time since we got this damn laptop.
It's now affecting the rest of the computer, making updates pile up behind it.
I've been unable to update anything successfully since 12/25 and that was Security update for C++.

Besides running around the forums trying to figure this out, I've done nothing.
I've never done a "hotfix" or used a repair tool or anything really besides running a clean boot and clearing out some space in case that was the issue (which obviously it is not). I'm literally starting from scratch. I need guidance, I am so frustrated with this thing and I just don't have the will to go trying to fix it on my own.

I'm pretty tech savvy so I can navigate pretty well.. I just need to know where to go.

Give me some instructions so I can get this show on the road.
What do you need to help me? :P

    Updates that are in queue now;
*Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64- based Systems (KB2736418)
*Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2742598)

*Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on XP, Server 2003, Vista, Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2008 R@ for x64 (KB2742595)
*Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2757638)
*Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2769369)
*Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2778930)
*Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2785220)

*Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2773072)
*Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2786400)
    *Windows 7 Service Pack 1 for x64-based Systems (KB976932)
*Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - January 2013 (KB890830)

Those are the *14* Updates that "Important" that need to be installed.
There are also 6 "Optional" updates, including one for my display, but i'm not worrying about those right now.

Any help is appreciated, and I understand you will need logs and whatnot, I am just not sure which ones or how to acquire them. :)
    Thank you,
    Kitty

    UPDATE:

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    Error Codes:
80010108 & 800B0100 seem to be the ones that come up.

Running the SURT now..... Just been sitting for about 45 minutes now...

Will post logs after SURT finishes if updates still fails.

    Hi Kitty,

You'll be glad to know that those errors are usually very easy to fix.

The SURT can take quite a while to install sometimes, it's usually an indication of quite a few problems but we'll see. Although it might appear to freeze or hang at some times, please don't cancel it unless it still hasn't completed after several hours.

If you do cancel it, please upload the log regardless so we can see where it got stuck:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.persist.log

    UPDATE:

I tried to update JUST the SP1 since that's the one I really need to get going and it did fail, so here's the logs.

I can go ahead and try to update all 14 updates at once if you'd rather but with the SP1 update it just sat at 0KBs - 0% for like 20 minutes before it finally decided it was going to fail and come up with the same error 800B0100

    ---------
I did NOT cancel the SURT, just in case you were wondering. It did come up saying it was complete, upon which I restarted the computer and tried to install SP1, which failed.

Neither SFC nor CheckSUR found anything to complain about - CheckSUR ran for less than an hour, which isn't too bad.
The backstory in the CBS log is a rather different matter.
It looks to me as if some critical part of the updater is missing or corrupt.
    Code:
Line 232381: 2013-01-09 16:39:21, Error CBS Failed to verify if catalog file \\?\C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\488053cdbca3231eeb2c2af7236d09ed\update.cat is valid. [HRESULT = 0x800b0100 - TRUST_E_NOSIGNATURE]
I think a full reset of Windows Update is called for.
How do I reset Windows Update components?
Note that this will delete your update history - but that all currently-installed updates will remain installed, and can be seen in the Installed Updates listing.

...Are you sure there's nothing else to try first? I guess i'm just a little intimidated by that..?
When I click that link it brings up "Microsoft Fix It" should I go ahead and allow that to run?

    That's the idea :)
There may be two modes in that fixit - normal and Aggressive Use the Normal first, and reboot and test.
If that doesn't work, then use the aggressive mode.

Okay, i'll go ahead and do that. I just wasn't sure if I should do the "fix it myself" or if I could go ahead and let this tool do it.

I'll post the results as they come. :)
