Please post an MGADiag report - I'm a little concerned...

Please follow this tutorial and post an MGADiag report - then we can see what the problem is.

    https://www.sevenforums.com/windows-updates-activation/234159-windows-genuine-activation-issue-posting-instructions.html

Please also state the Version and Edition of Windows quoted on your COA sticker (if you have one) on the case of your machine (or inside the battery compartment), but do NOT quote the Key on the sticker!
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/howtotell/Hardware.aspx

Ignore errors produced when clicking on the Copy button - they simply mean that the tool could not create the backup files for some reason. The data is still copied to the clipboard for pasting to your response.

It's what I was afraid of - the installation is counterfeit, enabled by a hacker's Activation Exploit.
The Key is from an ASUS machine - but the motherboard is a BIOSTAR retail one.
There is an apparent SLIC table for an Asus present - which just isn't possible on a retail board from a different manufacturer.

You say that your COA sticker is for Windows 7 Ultimate - does it have a manufacturer name on it?
Does it look like the ones visible here? - How to Tell

    Oh my goodness!

I don't have that sticker on as I bought this as second hand computer.

Looks like I gotta buy a new one??

Does this prevent the windows from getting the updates?

Thanks for letting me know about this!

It'll prevent Windows from getting anything other than Security updates.

Unless you have the COA sticker or a proper Retail pack for the installed OS, you'll have to purchase a Full Retail pack for Windows 7 of whatever edition you need (you almost certainly don't need Ultimate! - unless you use Bitlocker, or Multiple User Interface language packs (which is why I asked for the MGADiag report in the first place).

ONLY buy from reputable sources! Buying from eBay and such is a recipe for being scammed.

You may find that it's more cost-effective to buy Windows 8 instead, if you do use multiple languages - it allows multi-language support without having to get the most expensive option!
    (I won't comment on usability)

    Thanks for the advice Noel!

By the way, the retail version can be installed on another upgraded computer says few years from now?

Basically, Windows 7 Home Premium is not much different from Prof and Biz?

I would not buy Windows 8 due to its user-unfriendliness.

    Thanks!

The major differences between Home Premium and Pro are
    1) ability to join a Domain
    2) ability to run XP Mode
    3) Backup capabilities

Major differences between Pro and Ultimate
    1) BitLocker
    2) Ability to run in multiple Languages using MUI Language Packs.

    Details here....
Compare Windows 7 - Microsoft Windows

The Full Retail license can be transferred to any computer (after uninstalling from any other machine)
an OEM License lives and dies on the machine on which it is first activated.

    Many thanks!

Do you think Microsoft going to have a new version of windows next year just like Vista to Windows 7? :)

Thinking should I wait for it or buy the Windows 7 now.

MS don't announce scheduling on new software - but going on past performance expect Windows 9 late in 2015.
Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if they changed the schedule markedly, and go to almost annual 'upgrades' with less changes between each.

Alright... Seems like I gotta take Win7 for now and get works done for this 2 years. Hopefully by then will get a discounted price for upgrade.
