    Hello millworkpm,

Before we continue, I would like you to check whether System Restore is enabled or not please:

System Restore - Enable or Disable

I've seen an error in your CBS log that is indicating that it is disabled and it's returning an error:

    Code:
CBS Failed setting restore point [HRESULT = 0x80070422 - ERROR_SERVICE_DISABLED]

    Hi millworkpm,

I'm so sorry for the delay. This week has been so busy for me. I'm currently doing a Maths degree which takes up enough time by itself, but on top of that I'm also training to be an online security analyst so I can help remove malware on forums. About a week ago now, what's known as my Live Log (after my Practice Logs, I get a Live Log where I clean an instructors virtual machine from malware) and I had to put a lot of time into that. My jobs list got completely marmalised and, despite your reminder, I forgot again. So, so sorry; I can assure you it won't happen again :)

Because it's been a while, would you mind uploading your CBS folder again please? It would be unwise to work from an outdated log.

    Hi millworkpm,

Perhaps I should have explained it a bit clearer, sorry.

    Export CBS.log

    1. Click on the Start button and then click Computer
    2. Double click on the C: drive, under the Hard Disk Drives category, and then scroll down to, and double click on the Windows folder
    3. Find and double click on the Logs folder.
    4. Right-click on the CBS folder, and select Copy.
    5. Go back to your Desktop, right-click on it, and select Paste. You should now see a folder on your Desktop called CBS.
    6. Right-click on this folder again, and navigate through Send to, and select Compressed (zipped) folder
    7. Another new file, also called CBS, but this time with a different icon, will be created. Please upload this new file to the forum, here

    Tom
