Another Win 7 Pro validation issue 0x8004fe21...

    Hi,

after upgrade the hardware (MB, processor and RAM) I installed from zero Win 7 Pro, and validate the copy by phone, a breeze.

Dozens of boots ahead, all things OK, this error 0x8004fe21 start to pop-up couple times a day. After a boot it vanishes, and maybe not appear again on the same day.

As you probably guess by my English, my Win 7 is non-US.

    Any suggestions?

The report looks fine to me - If you're only getting the notification occasionally, then it's probably the result of a race condition, where two or more processes fight over resources.
If the SPPSVC is one of those processes, and doesn't gain access within a certain time, it will flag it with the notification.

The most common cause is security software - what AV do you currently have installed? What other security software is installed.
What other AV's have EVER been installed?

I run Norton 360 and Malwarebytes in parallel, in 3 machines; in fact, with same SW configuration, but different HW.
For now, since WindowsActivationUpdate.exe, no more errors msg...
Besides that, Acrobat, Chrome, Evernote, Dropbox, GoogleDrive, MS Office 10, Iomega Encryption (for 3.0 USB HDD), Allway Sync and WMatch.
Since it is a fresh install, no other software ever been installed, but I used Windows Easy Transfer to replicate the previous accounts.

Norton would be my guess as to the cause - I've seen too many machines adversely affected by it.
Check the Malwarebytes forums for the best settings to use to run with Norton - it possibly is the combination that is the problem.

    OK.
if the error keeps repeating, I'll stop N360 for some days; or need to uninstall it completely to test?

It's preferable to uninstall it completely (you can install MSE once it's out), and run the Norton Removal Tool as well......

Download the Norton Removal Tool from here https://www-secure.symantec.com/norton-support/jsp/help-solutions.jsp?lg=english&ct=united+states&docid=20080710133834EN&product=home&version=1&pvid=f-home

Close all other programs, then run the tool. When it's complete, reboot the machine whether it asks for it or not.

After the reboot, open an Elevated Command Prompt, and run the following command

    NETSH WINSOCK RESET

You'll be advised to reboot - do so.
