Windows 7: Update KB2726535(x64), Error 0x80070490

Hello tom982,

thanks for offering your help. It is an MSDN(AA)-license - dunno if that means OEM or retail- and I would be able to get a new license for free. So i am willing to trust you anyway. A MGADiag should not be needed, i suppose?

MSDNAA licences for Windows could be either MAK or Retail - but not OEM.
Please ensure that you have run Belarc Advisor to retrieve your Key(s) for safe-keeping just in case everything goes wrong!

If it's a MSDNAA license, then I think it's best if you do a repair install:

The hive that I would be editing will contain your product key, and it's best to keep that safe.
